Photographs

The photograph must be one you have taken or have permission to use. Mooface designs can not create artwork using a copyrighted photograph, licensed design or another artist’s work without written permission from the copyright holder, therefore photographs you find on the internet will not be acceptable.A high-quality photograph is best. It must be crisp and clear as these produce the best portraits. The more detail that is in the picture the more detail we can put into your portrait!Most up to date mobile phones take very good photographs and could be used. It is best to be close-up to the pet, if you are too far away the photo will look pixelated and we will not be able to see any detail when we zoom in and we need the detail! Don’t get too close though, for example, if you are indoors the flash will distort the colours and be seen in the eyes. The best photos are always at eye level with the pet and in natural light. If you are taking a photograph from above you will not see the face. Please always send us the original photograph and not a screenshot as this reduces the quality. Always email it to us at the largest resolution. Please don’t be offended if we reject your photo, the best crisp photo’s really do make the best portraits. We will make the pattern to your competency level, but if you want a very lifelike pattern with lots of detail perhaps better to wait until you have a few collages under your belt. There may be times when you are unable to take another picture of your furry friend, for example if they have passed away and maybe it is a picture that isn’t as clear as we would like, in that instance please contact us with the photograph you are thinking of using and we will take a look at it for you to see if there is anything that can be done.

 

Sizing

​The pattern sizes vary depending on how many subjects you are requesting. As a general rule of thumb 16” x 20” or 20” x 20”  is for one subject. Mooface Designs are happy to do larger sizes and more subjects in one pattern but as these are slightly more complex to produce there will be an increased charge.

 

Pricing

This service is £30 for a one head and shoulder portrait. Subject to the photograph being approved, Mooface designs will create the head and shoulders portrait, if you require anything other than this, such as full body or more than one pet it will take longer to produce so will incur extra charges. Get in touch, we are happy to give a no obligation quote. If you are unsure we are always happy to look at a few photos to see which one is best. If you are having multiple pets in the same portrait pattern they don’t have to be taken in the same photograph.

 

Timeframe

We will endeavour to produce your pattern as quickly as possible but please allow up to one week for your proof to arrive. Once the proof is approved, we will prepare your pattern and send within 24 hours.

 

Copyright

The pattern is for your personal use only and must not be reproduced, re-sold or copied. Any item made from the patterns must not be for the purpose of re-sale.  As the artist, Mooface Designs own the copyright of the artwork (pattern) made from your reference photo and as such it may appear on our website or social media as a sample of our work. We will not sell your bespoke pattern on our website or elsewhere unless you fail to complete the purchase. Mooface Designs will have spent time completing your pattern, in which case we have the right to sell the pattern to recover our costs.
